Question by student101: I am a finance student at UofI and wanted to know what courses are included in calculating your Major GPA?
Because I'm getting multiple answers on this. Some say that it's only the finance classes you take but the others say that it's the finance classes plus the supporting courses ( Economics, Accounting and such). Which one is right?

There is no official way to calculate the GPA in Major -- because it is not an official statistic. The only official statistic is your GPA.
Unofficially, it obviously varies. However, if you want to know this so that you can put it on your resume, why not compute it both ways, and use the higher number.
