Question by Rogue: What novels do you wish were never adapted into movies?

This is two of three question regarding movies being adapted (or not adpated) into movies. What novel do you wish was never adapted into a movie (or movies) and why? Tell me the name of the novel and movie and the original author, and why you wish, or think this novel should have never become a movie. Was the novel poorly written, thus giving a poor movie? This question is regarding novels that were never really good and were made into movies anyway, not terrible adaptations of otherwise good books.
